Tips for Clindamycin 1% + Tretinoin USP 0.04%

  • Always use Clindamycin + Tretinoin exactly as directed by your doctor. Do not use more or less than prescribed.
  • Before applying any medications to your entire face, try conducting a patch test on a tiny area of your skin to check for any bad reactions or allergies.
  • Allow the medicine to dry completely on your skin before applying any makeup or cosmetics. Avoid contact of Clindamycin + Tretinoin with the eyes, ears, mouth, or vagina.
  • Tretinoin can be rough on the skin, particularly in the beginning. Begin by applying it every other or third night to let your skin adjust. Gradually increase the frequency as your skin gets used to it.
  • Clindamycin and Tretinoin can both increase your skin’s sensitivity to sunlight. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 every morning, even on cloudy days. This helps to prevent sunburn and other skin damage.
  • While using these medications, avoid using additional harsh skincare products that can further irritate your skin, such as alcohol-based products, powerful exfoliants, or astringents.
  • Tretinoin can cause dryness and flakiness, therefore, it’s important to use a moderate, noncomedogenic moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated.
  • Drinking enough water and having a balanced diet can help to improve overall skin health.
